Sulty

Sulty's case of proud flesh was from August 2001and while it is not as serious and overwhelming as some of our other examples, it provides a sample of a very common case of proud flesh.  The sequence of photographs shows from start to finish how Equaide quickly eliminated the excessive granulation tissue and promoted the healing of the wound.  A special thank you to one of our first customers who shared these great pictures with us.

Sulty went through a metal gate and sliced her leg up.  The owner has been using ichthammol and Quartermaster for a deep infection that went down the leg.  Sulty was also on antibiotics for 2 weeks.  The owner had been sweating out the leg of swelling and now has proud flesh.

On Aug 21, Equaide was recommended and treatment begun.  Excessive granulation tissue has bulged above the surrounding tissue over 3 mm.  Owner changed bandaging every other day.

August 25, 2001.  Owner was surprised at how fast Equaide worked.  The owner didn't think anything would work on her Arab because she says this bloodline in particular has a bad history of growing large amounts of proud flesh and scarring badly.

August 27, 2001.  This profile of the wound exhibits how much the excessive granulation tissue has retreated.   Only days before it was bulging over the skin  by 3 mm.  The close up demonstrates how well the wound is healing.   Notice how nicely the skin edges are.

September  6, 2001.  No excessive granulation tissue as wound continues to heal.

September 26, 2001.  Wound has healed nicely and hair is rapidly filling in.

October  24, 2001.  Wound is completely healed and hair continues to fill in.  Special thanks for the photos.
