Dixie

 

A severe wire cut through to the bone.  Below is Dixie's story and some great pictures.  Thanks for all the photos and updates.

June 3, 2001, wire cut through to the bone.  Owner used Wonder Dust to stop the bleeding.

June 4, 2001, Owner began using Carona ointment.

June 8, 2001, Owner stopped wrapping leg and continued to use Carona ointment.

June 12, 2001, Veterinarian was called, leg badly infected and swollen; bone showing and infected.  The veterinarian applied Quartermaster/DMSO sweat to take down swelling and started penicillin injections twice daily.

June 14, 2001, Equaide was recommended to the veterinarian.  The veterinarian began using Equaide with daily bandage changes.

June 16, 2001, Equaide had started to shrink the overall size of the wound - the granulation tissue started to recede.

June 25, 2001, Began changing bandaging every 2-3 days with the application of Equaide.

July 6, 2001, Wound is healing nicely.  Wound still being bandaged every 2-3 days.

July 28, 2001, Size of wound shrunk by 50% with no signs of excessive granulation tissue.  Started changing bandaging weekly.

August 25, 2001, Stopped bandaging but applied Equaide to the wound every 3-5 days.

December 11, 2001, Photo showing a perfectly healed wound.  Thanks for the final picture.
